The Coronavirus pandemic has forced the countries around the world to lockdown and call for physical distancing and home quarantine. Staying at home and social distancing is not just advisable but highly recommended. As much as we all love to go about our lives and business, our health must be at the forefront of all our thoughts and decisions.
Since this virus is contagious and can spread through close contact with the infected person, here are three of your possible questions you might have relating to sex and coronavirus. We offer you one solution!
1) Is Kissing or Oral Sex Safe?
A healthy-looking person may carry the coronavirus since there might not be symptoms during its 14 days incubation time. Kissing can transmit the virus through the infected person’s saliva. Similarly, oral sex carries risk as it involves bodily fluids that might contain the virus. In fact, any form of genital contact that involves mouth or saliva like rimming (mouth on the anus) or blowjobs etc. should be avoided.
2) What about Sexual Intercourse?
Whether coronavirus can be transmitted through sexual intercourse by the exchange of body fluids like sperm or vaginal secretion is yet to be confirmed by researchers. However, World Health Organization has stated that COVID-19 spreads through close physical contact (less than 6 ft). Anal sex should also be avoided as feces could contain the virus as well.
3) Who must Self Isolate?
Someone with coughing, sneezing, headaches or fever should be isolated for 14 days period as a precautionary measure. If one of the partners is at higher risk due to age, pregnancy or weak immunity, then they should isolate themselves and not engage in sex.
One can safely assume that people who had been under isolation for at least 14 days without any symptoms or if they are tested negative for coronavirus can perform sexual activities. The use of condoms and dental dams to prevent the exchange of body fluids is advisable against sexually transmitted infections.
The Solution to… what is Safe Sex? Solo Sex!
Having said all that, what is safe sex is solo pleasuring! With tension amid the coronavirus pandemic, you can worry about one less thing with masturbation because not only does it terminates the risk of contracting the disease but also relieves anxiety by releasing the “pleasure hormone” dopamine and “love hormone” oxytocin. These two hormones are behind the pleasure we feel during orgasms. Solo sex also significantly reduces the stress hormone called “cortisol” hence protects the immune system from stress.
In addition, research states that masturbation boosts the immune system by increasing the number of white blood cells that are a mainstay during the fight against the pathogens. Therefore, masturbation is certainly a great option for us all!
There are plenty of fun and innovative sex toys that can spice things up and bring your masturbation experience to the next level of ecstasy. You might choose to masturbate alongside your partner using sex toys. If you and your partner are physical separated, this is probably the time to try phone sex, sexting or remote sex toys like Moxie by We-Vibe.
Penis owners can choose from Flesh-lights, cyber-skin sex dolls, masturbators and a lot more to enhance their ejaculation experience while simulating the sensations of penetrative sex. You definitely want to consider the stylish F1 Developer Kit by Lelo – their first masturbator for men has the F1 look, feel and theme which will take you to places with some imagination.
To release their stress and boost immune function during this pandemic situation, vulva owners might choose from a range of wand vibrators, clitorial vibrators (with or without suction), A-spot toys, G-spot toys, and (let’s not forget) dildos to intensify their orgasms.
If stimulating yourself manually tires you out easily, there is the Womanizer Premium. In an elegant combination of technology and high-quality design, it is designed to stimulate your clitoris at 12 different intensity settings. Thanks to its waterproof ability, this sex toy can provide wave after wave of sexual bliss.
If you love to keep things simple while getting the best out of your purchase, then the Ida Deep Rose Vibrators by Lelo might be your perfect choice. With eight different settings, this vibrator is sure to support you to get into your body and into pleasure. Using its wireless controller, you can change the pace from slow to fast and then back to slow. If you’re looking to stimulate your G-spot, then Ida can help you.
During this time of uncertainty and confusion, social distancing and self-quarantining is a necessary precaution. Just because your social life takes a hit doesn’t mean your sex life has to. With the right attitude and “new best friend”, solo time will allow you to develop a deeper intimate relationship with yourself.
