“After reading your masturbation story, I wanted to share my son’s first masturbation.
He is only 3.5 but about 6 months ago in front of me and his sisters he pulled his penis from his shorts and started playing with it. He was so proud and happy doing it. I know most parents and most likely me in the past would have told him to stop that as it’s not right to do that.
But after meeting you and learning more about sex and how it’s natural and makes you feel happy, I in fact supported my son doing this. I asked him whether he liked it and he said yes. He was just having lots of fun and it seemed so natural. He kept on doing it for like 2 min and I kept on supporting him. His sisters were laughing.
At the end I talked to them all saying that it’s natural and that they should not feel ashamed of it even if others tell them off. But I did tell them that they should do it in privacy rather than in public as other people may not understand. I really put my supportive reaction purely because of you and what I have learnt from you. Thank you Martha” – A father who wished to remain anonymous, 28 April 2014
My response: “Wow thanks a lot. It’s so powerful. I’ve had MANY clients tell me that they had extremely negative reactions from their parents from masturbation and shut down their sexuality from then on e.g. don’t do it again.”
