Handsome: IVSG presents 10 male artists exploring various representations of gender and masculinity in a group exhibition curated by Marla Bendini. The exhibition is inspired by the work and legacy of Robert Mapplethorpe and acknowledges the controversy it carries up till today. The featured works aim to show how each artist negotiates the constraints in their work and the strategies they employ.

“Stroke His Fire” – Penile Massage Workshop
Date: Mon 14 May 2012

Fee: $50 per person (100% goes towards the cost of running Handsome exhibition)
Synopsis: Based on Dr. Martha Lee’s most popular workshop Sizzling Strokes, Stroke His Fire is a condensed one-hour penile massage workshop specially designed as part the Handsome Exhibition. Open to both men and women, this workshop teaches fun, simple and practical techniques which promises to give guys a sizzling happy ending. Participants will have the opportunity to watch Martha demonstrate the techniques on a sex toy before practising on carrots.

Over – “Laughter Yoga – Make New Friends”

Synopsis: Laughter is a great catalyst to get to know people, relax and have fun. Laughter Yoga can be practised easily and effortlessly through various playful exercises. This is a special session for people who are new to laughter yoga. There will be an easy and gentle introduction into the laughter yoga practice.
Profile:
Founder of Eros Coaching, Dr Martha Lee is the only Clinical Sexologist who has a doctorate in human sexuality in Singapore. She is also a certified Laughter Yoga leader as well as certified Life Coach. She was recognised as one of Top 50 Inspiring Women Under 40 by Her World in July 2010, and one of Top 100 Inspiring Women by CozyCot in March 2011. Her website is www.ErosCoaching.com.

Handsome: IVSG is presented by rainbowartsproject, a project dedicated to the development of queer-related artworks in forms of exhibition, documentation and research.
rainbowartsproject recently presented ‘Queer Creatures’, a intercultural exchange of LGBTQ’s perspectives between Singapore and Sweden, in Kulturhuset, Stockholm. The project is supported by Supermarket 2012 and Riksutställningar, Swedish Exhibition Agency.
